Street racing in Århus

Overwhelming

My second race weekend with Mustang took place in the streets of Aarhus, Denmark the 17th - 19th of May 2013. As if it wasn't enough taming this huge beast of a car, I now had to get it through two intense days of street racing.

Many thoughts went through my mind, but getting there I knew I just had to get through the first free practice and it would probably feel better. I couldn't have been more wrong, and terrified doesn't even begin to explain it.

During the first free practice I panicked, and just wanted to get off the track as soon as possible. The pit lane was designed to hold 3-4 cars at a time and when I came in with tears runnind down my face, they asked me what the problem was. I said, "I can't do this, I want to get out".

The reply to that was, "well you can't stay in here, you have to stay out on the track!". So that was it, with no where to go I had to face my fear head on and get over it.

And I'm so glad there was no way out. The rest of the weekend was an incredible experience, and I loved every second of it.

Since our first race day was on the Norwegian constitution day I had the honour of having lunch with the Norwegian ambassador in Denmark, Ingvard Havnen, his son and the organizers of Classic Race Aarhus.
